The 2009 National League Division Series marked Albert Pujols sixth trip to the postseason in a nine-year career. His line over 56 postseason appearances is a remarkable .322 with 13 home runs and 36 RBIs.
This MLB-authenticated baseball (hologram LH642411) was not only game used in the 2009 NLDS, it is the actual ball hit by Albert in the first inning of the final game of the series.
This ball came directly from the Pujols Foundation and the Foundation stated Balls hit by Albert and authenticated by Major League Baseball are rare enough. But balls hit by Albert in the postseason and authenticated by MLB are unheard of. We know of only two in existence, including the one featured here.
This is the only MLB authenticated postseason ball in existence to have been hit and signed by Albert. Adding to the rarity, Albert has also added the inscription NLDS HIT, 10/10/09
A Pujols Family Foundation Certificate of Authenticity will also accompany the item.
Hologram number LH642411 was located in the MLB Authentication Database under GAME-USED BASEBALL.
